Job Description

job summary: An Electrical Commissioning Engineer / Superintendent is needed for a leading manufacturing organization outside the St. Louis MO area (near Troy) the Commissioning Engineer will lead the the startup and commissioning of electrical building systems within a large-scale manufacturing facility. You will act as a subject matter expert, overseeing electrical contractors and coordinating with vendors to ensure all installations meet rigorous safety, quality, and schedule requirements. Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in electrical design and 2+ years in construction management. A deep understanding of prevailing building codes (NEC, NFPA, IBC) and industrial safety practices like Arc Flash and Lock-Out/Tag-Out is essential for success in this mission-critical environment. This is a long-term contract role slated to last 1+ year. Our client is only seeking local talent currently.

Troy, Missouri job type: Contract salary: $50 - 60 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: High School responsibilities: Lead electrical building system startups, equipment factory testing, and formal handovers to end usersReview product submittals, shop drawings, and engineering designs while managing contractor-generated RFIs.

Conduct continuous work progress inspections to ensure strict adherence to OSHA requirements and project specificationsManage weekend work and plant shutdowns in collaboration with contractors, facilities groups, and manufacturing shopsOversee electrical contractors to ensure milestone targets are met and quality standards are maintainedPrepare detailed field engineering status reports regarding work progress, schedules, and utility outage planning for Project Managers qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 5 years of experience
