Job Description The Role:
We are currently hiring for 2nd/3rd shift. As the Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for operations, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. Work requires the ability to make decisions based on established procedures. Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). This role requires the use of independent judgement and may involve training others. This position will require you to have the ability to work 2nd/3rd shift and overtime. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing Complete engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming Work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision Be a technical resource for plant electricians Supervise project installations by contractors and plant electricians Develop and plan Continuous Improvement Projects Design and modify electrical control circuits and programs Support plant continuous improvement activity Recommendations for solutions to problems Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions Meets schedule and quality requirements Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreement Implement divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices Maintain frequent contact and collaboration in other areas outside of working group Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): Leadership experience Ability to work 2nd/3rd shift and overtime (possibility to rotate between 2nd and 3rd, but must be able to work either) Experience working in a manufacturing environment Controls Engineering experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience (4 years) Proficiency in industrial networking protocols- DH+, RIO, Device net. TCP/IP and EthernetIP HMI software
