Job Description

Entry-Level Electrical Engineer Tishomingo County Electric Power Association Position Summary The Entry-Level Electrical Engineer supports the planning, design, maintenance, and operation of electric distribution systems serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This position works closely with engineering, operations, and field personnel to help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient electric service throughout the cooperative's service territory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the design and improvement of electrical distribution systems. Support system planning, load studies, and engineering analysis projects. Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, maps, and technical documentation. Assist with staking, construction coordination, and inspection of electrical projects. Analyze outage data and support reliability improvement efforts. Work with field crews to troubleshoot electrical system issues. Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and cooperative policies. Assist with preparing cost estimates, material specifications, and project reports. Participate in storm restoration and emergency response activities as needed. Provide technical support to members, contractors, and cooperative staff. Must live on system or be willing to relocate within one year. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of electrical power systems and distribution principles preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, or engineering software is a plus. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. Preferred Skills Understanding of rural electric utility operations. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to learn utility engineering standards and procedures. Working Conditions Combination of office and field work environments. Occasional travel within and outside the service area required. May require work outside normal business hours during outages or emergencies. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and terrain. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
