Job Description:
Engineer I | Moss Point, MS (Hybrid/Onsite) We're looking for an entry-level Engineer I to join a growing team supporting power and utility system design. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience in design, construction support, and engineering processes. What you'll be doing:
  • Support the design and construction of power-related systems using engineering standards and software tools
  • Assist with cost estimates, design options, and preparation of construction packages
  • Work closely with contractors to review designs, estimates, and specifications
  • Partner with internal teams across design, construction, and maintenance
  • Support day-to-day operations including material estimates and construction documentation
  • Learn and apply Southern Company and industry design standards What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • 0-5 years of experience in engineering or design
  • At least 2 years of CAD experience
  • Experience reviewing, marking up, and updating mechanical drawings (P&IDs)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, plant teams, and vendors Why this role:
