We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform engineering duties in planning and operational design of facility electrical systems, machinery utilization/upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance, instrumentation and controls, communications, and test warning systems. Work areas can involve tight quarters and physical agility/dexterity is necessary to perform job functions. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and outside vendors. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Some positions may require entry into confined spaces with proper PPE and training. Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions. Qualifications
REQUISITE SKILLS
Experience with government facilities programs desirable but not necessary. Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with rocket propulsion desirable but not necessary - willing to learn. The candidate shall have a good command of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint). A working knowledge of the English language is required. The candidate shall be able to operate in a team environment, and shall have good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills (written and verbal). Troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving electrical problems, including wiring faults, short circuits, and equipment malfunctions. Repair, replacing damaged or malfunctioning electrical components (transmitters, sensors, switches, relays, video, intercom, PA, lighting, etc). Have a working knowledge of conduit, associated equipment, and installation. Testing using test equipment to measure voltage, current, and resistance to ensure proper system function (volt/current meters, ohm meters, mega ohm meters, oscilloscopes, etc). Following Safety Regulations adhering to safety standards and regulations, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local codes. Communicating with Clients/Customers explaining electrical issues to customers, outlining repair solutions, and recommending preventative measures. Reading Schematics and Blueprints, interpreting technical diagrams to understand system layouts and wiring configurations. Using Tools and Equipment, employing a variety of tools and measuring instruments for installation, testing, and repair tasks. Perform routine preventative/corrective maintenance following established schedules and procedures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs. Work with engineers and other technicians to improve processes and troubleshoot complex issues. Write technical procedures, routine reports and work authorizing documents. Applies advanced technical knowledge in solving complex problems associated with the design, operations, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems. Determine best methods for facility modifications and upgrades to electrical systems with respect to cost, schedule impacts, reliability, efficiency, and complexity of operation. Guide and instruct technicians in their day-to-day work processes as required. Effectively coordinate and communicate technical issues with management and work in close contact with facility users and customers. All other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
4 years as an electronic technician or, 3 years of SSC site work experience. Associate degree in related field (electronics, instrumentation, controls/automation). Computer experience. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. The candidate shall be a US Citizen. The candidate must be able to complete a background check for test complex and facility access.
