Electrical Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN Job Description We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong knowledge of Arc Flash analysis and electrical power systems design to support industrial and DOE-regulated environments. The Electrical Engineer will support electrical system design, analysis, and field implementation activities for complex industrial and nuclear-related projects. This role provides technical leadership and engineering support to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient electrical system performance. Responsibilities Perform Arc Flash studies and coordination studies in accordance with NFPA 70E and IEEE standards. Conduct short circuit, load flow, and protective device coordination analysis. Support the design and modification of low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems. Develop single line diagrams, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, and specifications. Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and recommend upgrades or corrective actions. Support field walkdowns, construction support, and commissioning activities. Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and design packages. Ensure compliance with DOE, OSHA, NFPA, and applicable codes and standards. Support multidisciplinary coordination with mechanical, I&C, structural, and project teams. Provide technical input for procurement specifications and vendor evaluations. Essential Skills Arc Flash Analysis Experience 3+ years of relevant industrial or DOE experience Experience performing Arc Flash and protective coordination studies Knowledge of

NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE

standards, and OSHA regulations Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical Engineering or relevant degree Experience with ETAP, SKM, or similar power system analysis software preferred Experience supporting DOE or nuclear facilities Active DOE Q clearance preferred or ability to obtain one Professional Engineer license preferred Experience in hazardous or high-consequence industrial environments Work Environment The position supports projects in industrial or DOE-regulated environments, requiring adherence to safety and compliance standards. The role involves field walkdowns, construction support, and multidisciplinary coordination. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Asheville, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
