Plant Controls Engineer

job summary: Full time-Direct hire Controls Engineer is needed for a client local to the Canton, NC area just outside of Beautiful Asheville, NC. Hiring manager is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with expertise with PLC modications, automation/control systems and working with vision systems. Client is offering a base salary of $95,000- $110,000 + 15% potential bonus, full benefits, 401 K and a tremendous team based culture.

Canton, North Carolina job type: Permanent salary: $95,000 - 110,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Associates responsibilities: Serve as an expert in making programming modifications/improvements on automated equipment to improve safety, uptime, quality, and increase throughputWork with production supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and process technicians to ensure plant objectives are met relative to automated equipmentTroubleshoot and advise maintenance/engineering of repairs on electrical/electronic components, including sensors (photo eyes, prox. switches), variable frequency drives, PLCs, motors and motor controllers, servo motion controllers, vision systems, robots, CNC machinesInterpret electrical schematicsInterface with IT department regarding machine networkingCall equipment and/or parts vendors for support in troubleshooting problems and/or optimizing equipmentCoach, train, and mentor team members The essential functions of this role include:working in a smoke free environmentwearing steel toe shoesworking in a non-temperature controlled environmentstanding for 4 hours at one time qualifications: Experience level: ExperiencedMinimum 5 years of experience
