We're looking for a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Cincinnati, OH, Conshohocken, PA, Indianapolis, IN, Cary, NC who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. You will be responsible for managing the schedule and ensuring the technical quality of complex engineering tasks as you develop an understanding of client expectations, scope, budget, and timeline. You will also support on-site startup activities, coordinate work with team members, and collaborate closely with the discipline lead. In addition, you may lead small teams, guiding task execution and ensuring alignment with project goals. Working within a highly interactive, multi-disciplinary team, you will contribute to designing electrical circuits and control panels, developing control systems for a range of processes, and identifying optimization opportunities across process control, instrumentation, and automation. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise to mentor others - helping team members grow, discover their strengths, and advance in their careers. Summary:
  • Reporting to the I&C Department Manager, the candidate will serve as the I&C Lead Engineer, overseeing all I&C engineering and design activities for assigned projects.
  • The candidate will have experience working with and managing both domestic and international teams, providing mentorship and training to support successful project delivery.
  • The I&C Lead Engineer will ensure compliance with client requirements, Jacobs standards, and applicable industry regulations on assigned projects.
  • The candidate will develop project scopes of work, prepare manhour estimates, create I&C Execution Plans, and define the resources required for successful project execution. They will function as the I&C lead throughout all project phases, as needed.
  • The Lead I&C Engineer will identify staffing needs and coordinate with the Department Manager to secure appropriate resources.
  • Perform tiered reviews of project deliverables to ensure accuracy, adherence to codes, specifications, design criteria, and sound engineering practices.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to train, drive change, and implement improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio) and familiarity with SmartPlant, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu is required.
  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years' experience as Control Systems Engineer
  • Experience in Bio Pharma, Pharmaceutical & Lab process Instrumentation and controls
  • Knowledge of International codes like ASME BPE, Dairy, Hygienic systems (Process, water system, Clean steam etc)
  • Knowledgeable of Life Science Industry Automation, DCS and PLC control systems, and development of P&ID's, control system architectures and associated design deliverables and field instrumentation
  • Must be able to travel to client's facilities for presentations, site surveys and field assignments Ideally, you'll also have:
  • PE Registration preferred
  • Masters in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and an ability work in a collaborative environment.
