Travel:
~30% (otherwise office-based) We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with exposure to AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) systems to support the design, implementation, and deployment of advanced material handling solutions. This role is a mix of hands-on engineering, customer interaction, and system integration, with opportunities to work both in-house and at client sites. Key Responsibilities Design, program, and implement AGV systems for industrial applications Support system integration, testing, installation, and startup at customer sites Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and system modifications Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliverables Train customers and internal teams on system functionality and best practices Maintain accurate documentation including reports, manuals, and system updates Ensure adherence to safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications 5+ years of experience in industrial automation Hands-on experience with PLC programming and structured text (Codesys preferred) Exposure to AGV systems required Strong understanding of electrical systems (including 480V, controls, and mobile equipment) Ability to troubleshoot, program, and integrate complex automation systems Experience with CAD is a plus Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers What We're Looking For Self-starter who can work independently and on a team Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment Ability to travel up to 30% You should be proficient in: PLC Troubleshooting Skills Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Troubleshooting Skills CAD Software PLC Programming Experience Machines & technologies you'll use: Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) CAD Software Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley) Industrial Robot
