Full Job Description Description:
A Senior level Electrical Engineer at UPT will have a strong understanding of embedded system development and will have the ability to take a design from concept to production by working with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers and cross functional teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Design, develop, analyze, bench test, and document products, systems or subsystems from concept, through prototype, to final production Responsible for driving technology development and project completion on time and budget Take ownership of technical projects, managing them independently and guiding them through to completion Review and interpret customer requirements, then develop robust, cost-effective designs to meet or exceed them Provide reliable cost and schedule estimates for design assignments Document detailed component and subsystem specifications, as well as material requirements Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems engineering, program management) to ensure cohesive system-level integration and successful project execution Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with senior management, the design team, and customers as required Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to other engineers and support staff Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and specifications Adhere to all company safety protocols, including use of appropriate PPE where required
Skills/Qualifications:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Demonstrated track record of leading and delivering complex design projects from concept to production Extensive hands-on experience with bench-level tasks, debugging, and system-level testing Strong technical analytical skills and great attention to detail Proven ability to self-manage project tasks and meet schedule and budget constraints Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical writing, documentation, and clear communication with team members and stakeholders (examples upon request) Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and teamwork, ability to mentor and support junior engineers Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks or projects concurrently Must pass background check and drug screening
Desired Qualifications:
Working practical knowledge of AS9100 or other quality systems
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related technical field Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of study Master's degree preferred
