Job Description

Job Description - Controls Engineer Controls Engineers is responsible for design, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and development of industrial controls equipment in a manufacturing facility, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs PLCs, HMIs, VFDs to meet customer specifications. Designs, builds and integrates automation solutions including in-house builds and on-site installs. Leads successful startups of automation projects ensuring projects are completed accurately.
  • Troubleshoots electrical control panels and associated electromechanical equipment and sensors.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have 3+ years' experience programming Studio 5000 V20 and newer.
  • Must be able to modify schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot complex industrial control systems in fast paced environments.
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC systems.
Critical thinking with problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments. Ability to balance multiple projects responsibilities while meeting strict schedules.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with additional control software platforms, industrial robotics, and vision systems would be preferred. 10+ years' experience in the industrial technology industry. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, NFPA70E, NFPA79 and Lift certifications.
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and industrial control system design.
WORK HOURS & TRAVEL
  • 4x10 weekly schedule: Monday-Thursday.
  • Limited ad-hoc support coverage after hours and weekends.
  • Predominately day travel to Western Carolinas worksites.
  • Home nightly with less than 5% overnight travel expected.
