Position Summary The Power Electronics Engineer designs, installs, and supports complex multi-phase high-voltage (480V) electrical systems. This role requires hands-on engineering across system design, installation, commissioning, and optimization for power electronics and control systems. Initial work will focus on the M2X Reformer and Reactor skid systems, with future projects supporting Motorsports applications. Key Responsibilities Design and implement 480V multi-phase power systems up to 400A Install, troubleshoot, and optimize wiring, VFDs, generators, load banks, and switching gear Develop control and instrumentation systems, including CAN communication and synchronization strategies Support microgrid power management and shore-to-generator transitions Create technical documentation (wiring diagrams, test plans, reports) Perform data acquisition and analysis Collaborate with integrators and cross-functional teams Provide technical leadership and support for motorsports-related electronics and mechatronic systems Stay current with industry advancements and apply new technologies Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field Expert-level experience with power electronics and control systems Hands-on experience with electrical hardware installation and troubleshooting Preferred Experience Combustion engine controls (EFI) Starters, alternators, sensors, and engine mechatronics Custom controller development (Arduino or similar) Engine testing experience (AVL preferred) Travel Full-time, on-site role in Welcome, NC Infrequent travel to Midwest and Southern U.S. locations Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, NC.
