Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Field Engineer to join our team and lead electrical system installation, testing, and commissioning on large-scale construction projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your electrical engineering expertise in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and possess strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with project teams, contractors, and clients. Your expertise will help drive project success from initial planning through final execution, delivering reliable electrical solutions that meet all safety and quality requirements. Responsibilities Oversee electrical installation activities on construction sites, ensuring compliance with design specifications, schematics, and safety standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code). Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to schedule work phases and ensure timely completion of electrical tasks. Review blueprints, system design documents, and schematics to verify accuracy before installation begins. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 and Construction estimating software. Manage electrical system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Prepare detailed reports on project status, issues encountered, and resolution steps; maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in procurement processes by evaluating bids using HeavyBid or similar construction estimating tools; support contract negotiations related to electrical scope of work. Skills Proven experience with electrical engineering principles applied in construction environments; strong background in system design and schematic reading. Proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera P6 and Construction estimating software like HeavyBid. Familiarity with industry standards including NEC (National Electrical Code) and blueprint reading. Skilled in construction site management, project scheduling, and construction management practices. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects. Strong communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders; ability to document technical details clearly. Knowledge of contracts management related to electrical work; experience with system design software such as is a plus.
