Job Description

Electrical Engineer, Capital Projects Rocky Mount, North Carolina | Full-Time A manufacturing operation in Rocky Mount, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and manage capital projects across the facility. This role carries ownership of electrical engineering work from initial scoping through turnkey delivery, coordinating across internal teams, outside vendors, and engineering firms simultaneously. The position involves both hands-on technical design work and project leadership responsibilities on multiple concurrent projects. Schedule Full-time. On-site in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. What You'll Do As the Electrical Engineer for capital projects, you will manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from initial scoping and estimation through construction, startup, and turnkey delivery. That includes developing and overseeing project schedules, estimating cost of goods sold, managing forecasts, and providing progress reports to both internal leadership and outside stakeholders at each stage of the project. You will coordinate across multiple groups simultaneously, including outside vendors, engineering firms, and internal operations and maintenance teams, to keep projects on schedule and within scope. Drawing preparation is a hands-on part of this role. You will either oversee the development of electrical drawings or produce them directly as project needs require, using AutoCAD. You will provide leadership and technical oversight across all assigned projects, maintaining a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they affect schedule or budget. Ensuring that all project personnel operate within applicable safety and environmental policy guidelines is an ongoing responsibility across every project you lead. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 4 or more years of electrical engineering experience in a corrugated or corrugated packaging manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience leading and participating in capital projects, including estimation, scheduling, and project controls Proficiency in AutoCAD, including electrical drafting Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate across internal teams, outside vendors, and engineering firms Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to internal and external stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Experience with turnkey project delivery including construction coordination and equipment startup Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance requirements in a manufacturing setting Experience developing cost of goods sold estimates and project forecasting reports
