Job Description

Overview Carbon Felt, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high-temperature graphite insulation and turn-key solutions used within high-temperature furnaces and energy storage devices. CFI is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer for our Claremont, NH. Facility. The Electrical engineer candidate must apply the principles of electricity, electronics, and controls to develop electrical and control systems used in CFI's manufacturing plant. They perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes. Responsibilities Designing and improving electrical products and systems. Design and delivery of control systems and automation for complex industrial furnace equipment and other systems used to support manufacturing. Evaluating systems' safety, reliability, and performance. Responsible for the on-time delivery of assigned engineering projects. Ensure that installations and applications are in line with production needs and safety standards. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes. Summarize data and report on test results. Examine needs of new equipment, calculate costs, and help prepare budgets. Monitor maintenance and inspection plans. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience 1-4 years of related work experience. Design of power supplies and PLC control systems for complex industrial furnaces, vacuum furnaces, ovens, and equipment using a variety of components. Exceptional understanding of Industrial controls for power circuits and automation control systems. Excellent equipment and component troubleshooting skills. Able to set up and test controls instrumentation. Knowledge of industry standards (NFPA, NEC, CSA, UL). Able to understand, program and test PID control loops. Programming experience of Rockwell Automation and Siemens PLC's and HMI's is a plus. Have a solid understanding of and ability to work with, analyze and safely evaluate AC and DC electrical and power and control circuits. Able to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets. Able to understand Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems and related control components. Knowledge of Vacuum Equipment is a plus. Ability to use testing and metering devices. Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical is a plus. Proficient with Windows operating systems and MS Office software. Professional demeanor with good written and oral communication skills. Good working in a team as well as independently with a solid work ethic. Able to manage multiple tasks. Must be comfortable in both a manufacturing and office setting. Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards. Problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational, communication skills, and attention to detail. Generate and edit electrical schematics, power supply drawings, and panel layouts and configuration of instrumentation such as vacuum controllers, temperature controllers, IO devices, safety devices, motor controllers, etc.
