Electrical Engineer -
MEP Design Location:
Morristown, NJ About the Role We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a growing MEP firm known for its collaborative culture and hands‑on approach. In this role, you'll work on a wide range of projects—including office spaces, restaurants, medical facilities, and industrial plants—while gaining exposure to all phases of design and construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who values flexibility, ownership, and meaningful project involvement. Key Responsibilities Design and produce electrical drawings and engineering documents using AutoCAD (Revit a plus) Coordinate electrical systems in accordance with NEC codes and industry standards Prepare electrical evaluations, cost estimates, reports, and specifications Collaborate with architects, owners, contractors, and MEP disciplines Conduct site visits, surveys, and job site observations Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and shop drawing reviews Assist with proposals, scopes, budgets, schedules, and client meetings Manage multiple assignments independently and meet project deadlines Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with an MEP firm Bachelor's degree in Engineering Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of MEP electrical design and NEC codes Strong coordination, communication, and report‑writing skills Ability to design projects with limited supervision U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship) Preferred 4+ years of MEP electrical engineering experience Lighting design experience Familiarity with permit applications and regulatory submissions Work Environment & Benefits Highly flexible work hours (start before 9:30 AM; 40+ hours/week) Small, close‑knit team with very low turnover Full exposure to projects from start to finish Comprehensive benefits available, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, bonuses, and profit sharing (eligibility dependent) Contract‑to‑hire opportunity Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.07 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
