Job Title:
Electrical Design Engineer Job Description Join our innovative team as an Electrical Design Engineer, where you will contribute to the development and testing of Light Detecting Systems using advanced sensor technologies such as CCDs, PDAs, InGaAs, and CMOS. You will play a pivotal role in all phases of product development, from definition and design to qualification and production support. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing mixed signal circuits, FPGA-based high-speed digital circuitry, and participating in PCB board layout and routing. Responsibilities Contribute to the development and testing of Light Detecting Systems. Engage in all phases of product development including definition, design, qualification, and production support. Design mixed signal circuits incorporating Op-Amps, Voltage References, DACs, ADCs, and discrete semiconductors. Design FPGA-based high-speed digital circuitry with LVDS and MIPI interfaces for sensor command and control. Participate in PCB board layout and routing definition stages for new board and product designs. Contribute to board-level test fixture designs. Essential Skills Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles in both analog and digital domains. Design knowledge of low noise and wide bandwidth analog and mixed signal circuits. Experience with data acquisition systems incorporating USB 2/3, Gig-E, LVDS, MIPI, SPI, and I2C interfaces. Knowledge of system-level power distribution design and power management techniques. Ability to guide multi-layer PCB board designs within stack-up, parts placement, and routing requirements. Familiarity with test equipment such as DVMs, Power Supplies, Function Generators, and Logic/Spectrum Analyzers. Sound test, troubleshooting, and SMT soldering skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with FPGA, power distribution, and PCB design. Proficiency in analog design. Work Environment This role is based onsite, working within a fast-paced environment where projects are completed in 1-2 months. You will collaborate with a team of seven other engineers on the OEM site of the business, with a focus on delivering high-quality scientific instruments and analytical solutions. The position requires being onsite five days a week, contributing to a vibrant and dynamic team culture. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Piscataway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
