Job Description
Aerospace Test Engineer responsible for developing, executing, troubleshooting, and documenting electrical and spacecraft integration test activities. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree Professional experience in aerospace test engineering or a related field Experience developing test procedures for component or spacecraft integration and test activities Experience executing electrical checkouts, RF communications testing, propulsion testing, GN&C testing, thermal testing, or related spacecraft testing Experience performing safe-to-mate, power-on, and functional testing Electrical or electronics testing experience at the unit, subsystem, or spacecraft level Experience troubleshooting anomalies and failures Experience performing root cause corrective action Experience reviewing electrical schematics, wiring interconnect diagrams, and electrical component specification sheets Experience operating component or spacecraft EGSE, including: Power supplies Electronic loads Digital multimeters Oscilloscopes RF test equipment VNAs Spectrum analyzers Telemetry receivers Modems Ability to support testing outside standard business hours, including occasional overnight and weekend testing Ability to travel as required Preferred Skills Experience using Epsilon3 for test procedure development and execution Experience with environmental testing Experience using bench supplies and oscilloscopes without senior technician support Understanding of AS9100 industry standard practices Experience with electronic testing at the spacecraft level Experience with FlatSat or hardware-in-the-loop testbed design and operations Failure analysis experience using Ishikawa, fishbone, 5-Why, or similar methods Previous experience with spacecraft-level test development and hands-on testing Experience with spacecraft ground systems such as COSMOS, OpenC3, InControl, or similar platforms Linux experience Scripting experience, including Python Familiarity with cleanroom operations for spacecraft integration and test Experience with requirements analysis and test method development Job Responsibilities Develop test procedures for component, subsystem, and spacecraft integration and test activities Execute safe-to-mate, power-on, functional, electrical, RF, propulsion, GN&C, and thermal test procedures Operate spacecraft and component EGSE during test activities Document test results and produce reports for each test activity Track test metrics and maintain testing records Troubleshoot anomalies, failures, and test issues Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications to support test planning and troubleshooting Support environmental, subsystem, and spacecraft-level testing Assist with spacecraft testbed, FlatSat, or hardware-in-the-loop operations Support cleanroom-based spacecraft integration and test activities Analyze requirements and define appropriate test methods Support occasional travel for test activities
