Work Control Planner 4 COMPA Industries seeks an experienced Senior Work Control Planner to support our client at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Pay Rate:
$80•86/hour
Schedule:
4/10•Potential for nights and weekend shifts.

Mandatory Experience Requirement•Read Before Applying Applicants must clearly meet all criteria below: Extensive experience creating and closing work packages for complex, regulated, or high-hazard facilities Deep understanding of work control, safety practices, and lock-out/tag-out for mechanical and/or electrical systems Demonstrated ability to independently plan, develop, and manage complex maintenance or modification activities Applications that do not demonstrate these qualifications will not be considered. Impact This role is critical to the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of complex operational and maintenance activities. The Senior Work Control Planner is a key contributor in supporting facility missions by developing, reviewing, and closing high-quality work packages that uphold safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Responsibilities and Duties Prioritize safety and security, complying with all requirements and halting work if safety or security is compromised Prepare, review, and issue work packages (corrective, preventive, modifications) for complex activities, following all regulations Analyze and estimate time, labor, and materials for complex projects Develop precise specifications and detailed step-by-step instructions Manage work package priorities, ensuring timely and accurate execution Write instructions for isolation, containment, or de-energization of mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological systems Perform related administrative tasks, including permits, testing requirements, documentation, records management, and training Ensure compliance with Laboratory, industry, legal, and environmental requirements Validate that all materials, processes, and results meet established quality and safety specifications Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and discrimination-free workplace Minimum Qualifications Extensive experience in complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance Advanced knowledge of safety practices, hazards, operating configurations, and lock-out/tag-out in complex facilities Proven ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics Proficiency with computerized work management systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills Demonstrated ability to independently prepare and present work control documentation and reports Desired Skills Broad work control experience in unique, complex facilities Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Effective teamwork and collaboration with maintenance, operations, engineering, and facility staff Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree and 12 years of directly related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience Post-graduate coursework may be expected
Direction Supervision Received:
Minimal day-to-day functional/operational direction from supervisor
Supervision Exercised:
May provide direction to maintenance, operations support, or clerical staff
