provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. Job Summary - Essential Functions/Duties The Senior Electrical / Avionics Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting airworthiness, avionics integration, and limited T2 engineering activities across multiple airborne platforms including rotary-wing, fixed-wing, ISR, and specialized mission aircraft. This position provides independent technical assessment, peer review, limited integration-level engineering support, and airworthiness risk evaluation for aircraft modifications, sustainment actions, instrumentation integration, mission systems, and contractor-developed engineering packages.
The ideal candidate will:
Perform effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Provide technical review and integration support for electrical and avionics modifications across multiple aircraft platforms. Support T2 engineering activities including antenna relocation, instrumentation integration, wiring updates, mission equipment integration, and subsystem modifications. Develop and review engineering analyses, interface definitions, electrical load assessments, wiring diagrams, and technical data packages for airworthiness impacts and technical adequacy. Conduct engineering analysis associated with avionics integration, aircraft electrical systems, EMI/EMC considerations, and aircraft interface compatibility. Develop or modify CAD drawings, wiring schematics, installation concepts, and integration documentation in support of airborne modifications. Support airworthiness assessments, technical review boards, flight release discussions, and systems safety activities. Coordinate integration impacts across structures, systems safety, propulsion, flight controls, configuration management, and sustainment engineering disciplines. Support technical trade studies, integration recommendations, and engineering change documentation. Prepare technical assessment memorandums, risk summaries, engineering recommendations, and customer briefings. Serve as a technical interface with Government Chief Engineers, Technical Authorities (TA), platform contractors, and customer representatives. Assist in the development and maintenance of configuration baselines and technical package traceability. Support flight test readiness reviews and aircraft modification planning activities as required. Provide engineering judgment and technical leadership for integration-level activities while operating within defined airworthiness and contractual boundaries. Perform other job-related duties, as required Desired Qualifications Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline. A master's degree is preferred, but not required. A combination of formal education, advanced technical training, and equivalent experience may be considered. Requirements - Education, Technical, and Work Experience A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 16 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of 12 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum of eight years of related engineering experience are required for this position. In addition, an Engineer VI must possess the following qualifications: Minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience with aircraft avionics systems, airborne integration activities, airworthiness support, or military aircraft modification programs. Experience supporting military or Government aircraft integration programs involving avionics, instrumentation, mission systems, communications systems, sensors, or airborne subsystem modifications. Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, interface definitions, wiring diagrams, and technical data packages. Experience with electrical design activities, wiring integration, CAD drawing development/modification, or installation package support. Familiarity with aircraft electrical systems, power distribution, EMI/EMC considerations, and avionics integration practices. Experience participating in technical reviews, airworthiness reviews, systems engineering activities, or flight test support environments. Knowledge of configuration management principles and engineering change processes. Familiarity with MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, MIL-HDBK-1530, and related airworthiness or systems engineering guidance is highly desired. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. Ability to review contractor-developed analyses and identify technical, integration, and airworthiness risks. Ability to communicate complex technical information to engineers, program managers, Government customers, and leadership. Experience using engineering drawing or CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent tools is highly desirable. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to qualify for and maintain a Government Security Clearance. An active Secret or Top-Secret security clearance is highly desirable. Possess a valid State driver's license. Salary The expected salary range for this position is $170,000 to $220,000 annually.

Working Conditions This position involves work typical of an aircraft engineering and integration environment. Most work will be performed in an office setting using engineering tools, technical data packages, drawings, and analysis documentation. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. Occasional hands-on support, aircraft integration activities, flight-line coordination, and travel between work areas may be required. Routine travel to remote Company or Government locations may be required in support of engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, aircraft modification activities, and customer coordination.
