Buffalo, NY Job Details $85,500 - $123,200 a year Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering Electrical instrumentation Full Job Description Sr. Controls Engineer Lead the way in power and control systems, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and technician development at our Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant. Your role will involve optimizing systems, ensuring compliance, enhancing personnel safety, and supporting technician skill development in electrical power and process control systems.
Location:
Buffalo, NY manufacturing plant Primary overseer and troubleshooter for plant power and control systems, serving as a key member of plant technical leadership Contribute to the development and management of power and control standards, ensuring their application across all projects and upgrades Lead the implementation of the site masterplan for power and control systems, including understanding the installed base and developing replacement plans for obsolete equipment/technologies Establish and maintain a sustainable system for the skill development of plant Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) technicians Ensure technician adherence to local and national regulatory codes (NFPA 70, NFPA 70e, NFPA 79, and
OSHA 1910
) Validate MES data from PLCs and support plant Process Engineers in data analysis Design and implement machine control and process automation applications, including control strategies, HMI design, MES applications, and KPI development Identify areas of improvement in safety, quality, reliability, and cost, and develop plans to address them Take ownership of key elements related to power and control systems, such as electrical safety and Quality/CCP compliance Collaborate with leadership on equipment selection and installation, becoming the technical expert and providing training on control systems Act as project manager for various initiatives, from E&I focused projects to complete capital projects Provide power and controls engineering support for capital initiatives Utilize control, simulation, and process modeling technologies to analyze and improve operations
Compensation:
$85,500 - $123,200 annually
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 2 years of controls or electrical engineering experience Understanding of machine and/or process control hardware, instrumentation, and software (ex: Allen Bradley PLC, ControlLogix, Wonderware HMI, and Rockwell FactoryTalk)
