Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description This role offers an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in RF and microwave components to design, prototype, and support the production of advanced RF/microwave circuitry. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept and electromagnetic simulation through PCB layout, testing, and manufacturing support. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, collaborating closely with customers, and contributing to a growing organization where you can wear many hats and see your designs become finished products. Responsibilities Design passive RF and microwave components, including high-power, wideband directional couplers and combiners. Use electromagnetic (EM) simulation software to design and verify complex RF and microwave structures. Create and refine complex RF circuit layouts using CAD software tools. Build and test PCB prototypes to validate electrical performance and design intent. Apply knowledge of electrical circuitry and PCB design to develop reliable RF/microwave hardware. Perform testing using network analyzers and other RF test equipment to characterize and optimize designs. Take assigned projects from initial concept and prototyping through to the production phase. Lead and contribute to production and fabrication activities related to RF circuit designs. Collaborate closely with customers, attend technical meetings, and incorporate feedback into design improvements. Work with the internal engineering team to resolve design, manufacturing, and test issues throughout the product lifecycle. Document designs, test results, and design changes to support manufacturing and ongoing product support. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or MSEE). Coursework and foundational knowledge in RF and microwave components. Theory and practical understanding of microwave engineering. Experience with PCB design and production processes. Ability to build and debug PCB prototypes. Experience with electromagnetic (EM) simulations for RF and microwave designs. Hands-on experience with electrical circuitry and PCB-level design. Testing experience using network analyzers for RF and microwave components. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to RF/microwave design challenges. Academic performance reflecting a strong technical foundation (e.g., 3.4+ GPA or equivalent). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Microwave Office or other electromagnetic simulation tools. Familiarity with AutoCAD for mechanical or layout-related design work. Experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and mechanical integration. Experience with Inventor or similar CAD platforms. background in RF filters, power components, couplers, and related electronics. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in parallel. Strong communication skills for working closely with customers and cross-functional teams. Interest in working in a contract manufacturing environment with exposure to a variety of products and applications. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing setting within a mid-size company environment. You will be part of an engineering team of approximately eight colleagues, providing a close-knit, collaborative atmosphere with the chance to work directly with production and fabrication teams. Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The dress code is business casual. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with customers, attend meetings, and follow products through the full manufacturing process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Patterson, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
