Sr. Electrical Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing Ashtabula, OH A global chemical manufacturer is hiring an Electrical Engineer to improve the reliability, performance, and integrity of the electrical power distribution systems at a large-scale titanium dioxide manufacturing complex. Supporting two production facilities and an on-site Air Separation Unit, this role serves as the site's electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a continuous process, PSM-regulated environment. You will partner closely with maintenance, operations, and reliability teams to support both day-to-day plant needs and long-term asset strategies. Schedule Full-time, on-site. Compensation $125,000 - $150,000 per year. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, plus a 20% bonus target. Relocation assistance is available. What You'll Do As the site electrical SME, you will own power distribution and electrical reliability systems, leading and managing the Electrical Mechanical Integrity (EMI) program to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. You will drive reliability initiatives for substations, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and plant-wide power distribution, and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations for electrical failures affecting safety, reliability, and production. During plant upsets, you will provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting motors, drives, and power systems. You will support Management of Change (MOC) processes for electrical system modifications, develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, and maintain electrical engineering standards and specifications in alignment with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and industry best practices. You will ensure all electrical work is properly risk-assessed and executed in compliance with site safety policies and hazardous area classifications, and provide technical input for capital projects involving electrical infrastructure, including design, specification, and commissioning support. The role also includes limited instrumentation support for troubleshooting and system integration at a DCS/PLC interface level, and partnering with maintenance and operations to improve precision maintenance practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 7 or more years of experience in electrical engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments Strong expertise in electrical power distribution systems, including MCCs, switchgear, substations, and transformers Hands-on experience supporting electrical reliability programs in continuous process plants Experience troubleshooting motors, drives (VFDs), and power system disturbances, including motor controls through 4160 volts Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications and electrical design requirements in classified environments Experience sizing conduits and cables for motors, MCCs, and feeders Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, OSHA, API, NETA) Experience with reliability methodologies such as RCFA and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) Demonstrated ability to support plant operations during upset conditions and drive root cause resolution Strong communication and collaboration skills across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams Preferred Qualifications Experience with SKM Power Tools software Familiarity with DCS and PLC systems at an interface level Experience coordinating with outside vendors on load flow, arc flash, and coordination studies Prior experience as a site electrical SME in a PSM-regulated facility Compensation and Benefits 20% bonus target Retirement contribution up to 9% (6% match plus 3% annual company contribution) Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Relocation assistance Specific benefit details to be confirmed with the employer To apply, submit your resume through the application link.
