Job Description

Job Description Summary GE Aviation is seeking an Electrical Component Lead Engineer for our Controls Team. The Lead Engineer owns the design of multiple parts including electronic control, speed sensors, temperature sensors, pressure sensors & vibration sensors, and works with a cross-functional design team communicating goals & progress in the development and certification of jet engines. The ideal candidate has experience in controls hardware and solves technical problems impacting short & long term business goals. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements Provide technical leadership on the assigned project Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments Work with teams to address organizational initiatives Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance Desired Characteristics Existing government security clearance Work experience with electronic controls or electrical component Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to work independently Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
