This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of industrial, municipal, healthcare, commercial, retail, and educational projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience managing projects from concept through construction. Responsibilities include electrical system design, preparation of construction documents, client interaction, field investigations, construction administration, and mentoring junior engineering staff. Key Responsibilities Design and develop electrical systems including: Power distribution Lighting systems Fire alarm systems Security and access control systems Network infrastructure Instrumentation and control systems Prepare engineering calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications. Lead and mentor electrical engineers, designers, and technical staff. Conduct field investigations and site assessments to gather project data. Coordinate with clients, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams. Participate in project planning, scheduling, and quality control efforts. Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews, RFI responses, site observations, and coordination during construction. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and regulations. QualificationsEducation Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent accredited engineering degree. Experience 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within an architectural and engineering consulting environment. Experience designing electrical systems for industrial, municipal, healthcare, commercial, retail, or educational facilities. Experience with water and wastewater facility design is highly preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
Technical Skills Strong knowledge of:
National Electrical Code (NEC) International Building Code (IBC) Energy Codes and industry standards Proficiency with: AutoCAD Revit MEP Design Master Electrical Microsoft Office Suite EasyPower or similar arc flash analysis software Lighting design software Physical Requirements Ability to work in a professional office environment utilizing computers and technical software. Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed. Ability to perform field observations, site investigations, and facility evaluations. Capable of walking project sites, climbing stairs, and maneuvering through active construction or industrial environments when necessary. Ability to occasionally lift and carry project-related materials and equipment.
