Controls Specialist/ Controls Engineer Job Description As a Controls Specialist/Controls engineer , you will work both individually and in teams to support design, programming & commissioning of building automation systems (BAS) & Building Management Systems (BMS). Systems Conduct system and facility engineering job walk assessments. Troubleshoot and perform root cause failure analysis on assigned projects. Train suppliers in the owner's commissioning software systems. Provide and manage access for suppliers in the owner's commissioning software systems. Interface smoothly with engineering design team members and client representatives. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in commissioning or construction for I&C or Electrical Basebuild systems in the Advanced Technology sector. Proficiency with Rockwell Automation, PLC5, and Control Logix hardware and software. Experience with multi-discipline large capital projects involving Owners, General Contractors, Contractors, and System Integrators. Understanding of Design/Build (Engineering and Construction). Knowledge of complex process systems architecture & design, Instrumentation, Device Selection, Networking, PLC & I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA. Working knowledge of environments common in large industrial applications such as Dry/Wet Mechanical, AWN, Gas/Chem Distribution, HVAC, and Clean Room environmental control. Proficiency in written and verbal technical communication, including generating reports and conducting group presentations. Additional Skills & Qualifications A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a similar technical field is preferred. Associate's degree or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or control systems engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with control systems in a data center or similar environment. Proficiency in control systems programming and configuration. Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Familiarity with various control system platforms such as BMS (Building Management Systems) or SCADA is a plus. Experience conducting I/O checkouts. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
