Job Description
Job Description The Electrical Controls Engineer designs, integrates, and supports advanced electrical power, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for complex test facilities and test rigs. This role focuses on PLC-based control systems, power distribution, and cryogenic and propulsion-related systems, while providing technical leadership throughout the full lifecycle of design, installation, operation, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Include Design, integrate, and support electrical power, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for test facilities and test rigs Develop and implement PLC‑based control systems, including sensors, instrumentation, and signal conditioning Program, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PC/Unix systems, data acquisition systems, and TCP/IP communication networks Provide technical leadership for installation, calibration, checkout, troubleshooting, and operation of electrical and control systems; support technicians and electricians Create and maintain schematics, drawings, procedures, calibration records, and
ISO 9001
documentation; participate in design and safety reviews Support test operations, system upgrades, procurement activities, training, and specialized engineering analyses Skills & Qualifications Bachelors degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related, highly preferred 5+ years of experience with electrical, electronic, control, instrumentation, or data acquisition systems Experience with PLCs, data acquisition systems, and control system integration Working knowledge of C++, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, AutoCAD, MathCAD, SPICE, and MS Office Familiarity withNEC, OSHA
safety standards, ISA standards, and hazardous area classifications Understanding of power distribution (up to 480 VAC), cryogenic systems, sensors, and measurement devices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sandusky, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
