Job Description

Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) Needs a Safety Engineer to work in Waterville OH . This position offers a variety of great benefits. #INDE Electrical Safety EngineerPosition Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Engineer to join our team and support the design, review, and implementation of safe manufacturing systems and industrial equipment. This position will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, machine safety requirements, and risk mitigation practices for customer projects. The Electrical Safety Engineer will review plans and specifications for new machinery and equipment, conduct safety risk assessments, and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with applicable electrical, manufacturing, and machine safety regulations. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on electrical safety, functional safety, and risk reduction strategies while collaborating closely with engineering, project management, and customer teams. Key Responsibilities Review electrical designs, machine specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and customer requirements. Perform safety risk assessments for new machinery, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Evaluate electrical control systems and identify potential hazards associated with equipment operation and maintenance. Develop and implement machine safety solutions to reduce operational risks and improve workplace safety. Create and maintain safety documentation, including: Safety requirements specifications Risk assessments Safety validation plans Safety case reports Technical safety documentation Interpret and apply relevant electrical and manufacturing safety codes, standards, and regulations. Collaborate with engineering teams during equipment design and project execution to ensure safety requirements are integrated from concept through commissioning. Conduct facility and equipment inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. Develop and deliver safety training programs related to electrical hazards, machine safety, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risk and enhancing operational safety. Serve as a technical resource for customers, project teams, and management regarding electrical and machine safety requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical safety, machine safety, industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline. Experience conducting hazard analyses and risk assessments for industrial equipment and manufacturing systems. Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and industrial machinery. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and engineering documentation. Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and electrical safe work practices. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple disciplines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial automation, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, or automated manufacturing systems.
