Philadelphia, PA Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Qualifications Construction industry experience Full Job Description Description The Sr. Electrical Resident Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and systems at airport construction projects comply with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, testing equipment, documenting findings, and coordinating with project engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality and safe mechanical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
The key duties and responsibilities of an Electrical Resident Engineer include: 1.
Inspection & Compliance:
Conduct inspections of electrical systems, including low/ Medium and High Voltage systems, Backup power and generator systems, power distributions systems, airfield lighting and controls, constant current regulators, electrical switchgear, airport substations as well as any electrical components related to airport systems. Ensure installations comply with project specifications, airport authority regulations and local building codes. Verify that all mechanical work aligns with approved drawings and design documents. Review electrical design documents and provide feedback to the client for multiple design submissions. 2.
Testing & Commissioning:
Oversee and participate in the testing, commissioning, and startup of airport electrical systems. Identify any discrepancies or defects and coordinate necessary corrective actions. 3.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit daily reports, punch lists, and final inspection documentation. Assist in preparing technical reports and recommendations for project stakeholders. 4.
Coordination & Communication:
Work closely with project managers, contractors, and design teams to resolve issues. Attend progress meetings and provide updates on inspection findings. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and airport operational requirements. 5.
Safety & Quality Assurance:
Monitor compliance with workplace safety regulations and environmental policies. Ensure proper installation and maintenance of mechanical systems for optimal airport functionality and passenger safety. Recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 10 + years of experience in large buildings construction environment, preferably in airport projects or large-scale infrastructure.
Certifications:
OSHA 10 preferred.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of building components and electrical systems.
Skills:
Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and technical report writing.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, or inspection-related software is a plus.
