$122,000 - 140,000 Full Time | ExperiencedAbout the RoleAn established engineering consultancy is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Electrical Associate to join its Field Department in the New York office. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at project management, and is passionate about mentoring teams and contributing to firm-wide success.
As an Electrical Associate, you will act as a trusted advisor, project leader, and key representative of the organization. You'll manage projects from concept through completion and support the strategic growth of the department.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead conceptual design efforts and guide teams through construction documentation and project deliveryCommunicate proactively with clients regarding deadlines, deliverables, and project updatesCoordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and field leadersCollaborate with design departments and third-party engineering firmsOversee documentation control, including OPR narratives, observation reports, and testing logsManage multiple field service functions on large-scale projects (1M+ sq. ft.), including meetings, field activities, and client inquiriesDevelop and maintain project schedules; ensure timely delivery of documentationReview technical documents for accuracy, clarity, and distributionPrepare meeting agendas and minutes; track project milestonesIdentify design issues and submit RFIs or recommendations for resolutionDraft technical letters and memoranda addressing design challenges or code interpretationsDeliver large-scale projects from start to finish while maintaining strong client relationshipsProvide final review and distribution of project summaries and reportsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited programMinimum of 5+ years of electrical-focused commissioning or related experience, including oversight of small teamsProfessional certification (e.g., PE, LEED, CCP, CEM)Advanced understanding of MEP systems with strong focus on electrical systems, energy codes, and documentation phases (preconstruction through closeout)Proficiency with MEP design tools, field software (e.g., BlueRithm), and project financial tools (e.g., Deltek)Strong troubleshooting and technical writing skillsActive affiliation with a major professional organization (e.g., BCxA, AEE, ASHRAE, USGBC)Why Join the TeamEngage in work that blends a strong engineering legacy with emerging technologies including smart building systems and energy efficiencyJoin a collaborative culture that values mentorship, teamwork, and continuous learningContribute to impactful projects across commercial, healthcare, aviation, life sciences, and data center sectorsAccess multiple office locations across major Northeast citiesWhat We OfferHybrid work model providing flexibility between home and officeComprehensive benefits package, including retirement plan with employer match and stock optionsPaid time off, volunteer opportunities, and employee resource groupsTraining and professional development through internal learning programs If this seems like the right next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
