Controls Engineering Manager - Controls, Automation Sun City, AZ Full-TimeOn-Site$130,000 - $150,000 /yr Posted March 10, 2026 Controls Engineering Manager Position Overview The Controls Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimizing operational efficiency through automation and innovative engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the controls engineering team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for water treatment and wastewater treatment projects. Design and implement control systems, including PLC and HMI programming, for various automation projects. Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements and timelines are met. Develop and maintain project documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and user manuals. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards. Stay current with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve engineering practices and project outcomes. Provide technical support to field teams during installation and commissioning of control systems. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in the water and wastewater industry. Strong knowledge of automation technologies, control systems, and network communications, including VLAN networks. Experience with ALC and AVEVA software platforms for control and monitoring systems. Proficient in HMI design and implementation. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
