Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team developing innovative medical devices. This role requires a unique combination of embedded systems expertise, wireless connectivity knowledge, and medical device regulatory experience. Design and develop embedded systems for wearable medical devices using microcontrollers Operating in size constrained environments. Operating with various battery/energy constraints. Devices will relate to IoT Operating in a hospital setting, subject to knocking, vibration, and moisture. Implement BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and secure wireless connectivity solutions Develop and maintain firmware for medical device applications Conduct system-level testing and validation Design miniature circuits optimized for medical device applications Ensure designs are compatible with surface mount manufacturing parameters Address EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) issues through design and testing Support regulatory compliance efforts for medical device standards Rapid prototyping through use of breadboards, breakout boards and other related technology
Technical Skills:
Demonstrable track record with soldering (Certificate or reference) Ability to give form to abstract ideas, take high level concept and identify components and processes to give life to the idea. Understanding and experience with microcontroller schematics. Strong experience with embedded microcontroller development Proficiency in BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) implementation Firmware development experience.
C/C++, RTOS
Knowledge of secure wireless connectivity protocols and best practices Experience with miniature circuit design and layout Familiarity with EMC testing, troubleshooting, and mitigation techniques Familiarity with Machine Learning and Generative AI Familiarity with version control best practices, git.
Regulatory & Quality:
Working knowledge of

(Medical Devices Quality Management) Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality standards Understanding of
UL/IEC 60601
standards for medical electrical equipment Experience with design controls and documentation for regulated environments
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field 3-7 years of experience in medical device development or similar regulated industry Proven track record of taking products from concept through manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience fabricating and soldering miniature device prototypes Experience with 3D printing for prototyping. Experience with multimodal sensor systems. Master's degree in electrical engineering Experience with FDA submission processes (510(k), PMA) Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for connected medical devices Familiarity with risk management per
ISO 14971
