This role is responsible for creating accurate and efficient control system schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or equivalent tools. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in industrial automation, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs) Design complete control system packages for PLC-based systems Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications Collaborate with project managers, programmers, and panel shop personnel throughout the project lifecycle Participate in design reviews and support fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities Role Description Work with cross-functional teams to interpret project requirements and implement effective design solutions Produce detailed drawing packages, including: Panel fabrication drawings Power distribution Network topology Interconnect diagrams Marshalling MCC interfaces Field installation drawings PLC loop sheets and I/O registers Apply lessons learned and continuously improve design practices Evaluate alternative design approaches to optimize cost, performance, and constructability Assist the sales team with project scoping, estimating, and quote development, including performing electrical and controls takeoffs Provide technical support to sales, field teams, and customers Assist with troubleshooting and resolving system or panel-related issues Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies Occasionally travel to support projects, commissioning, and customer engagement Maintain accountability for quality, deadlines, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

Experience in the wood processing or food and beverage industry would be helpful BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree Minimum 5+ years' Engineering experience in electrical controls design Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Safety Critical Design Skilled with creating electrical drawings using AutoCAD Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes incomplete requirements Very high level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult Working knowledge of PLC controls systems and Industrial networking Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results Demonstrated ability to be a member of cross-functional teams while achieving substantial influence without administrative authority Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and trust Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and effective manner Understanding of
