Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work on a wide range of projects and contribute to the calculation, design, layout, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems. You will maintain a positive professional working relationship with team members while working collaboratively, proactively, and with a detail-oriented approach. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for small to medium size projects including existing facility evaluations, feasibility studies, and cost estimating. Perform detailed calculations to develop construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for electrical systems or components. Assist in construction administration by conducting site visits. Maintain accurate and timely project documentation. Ensure all electrical design systems adhere to building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Provide mentorship and coaching to emerging professionals. Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned. Essential Skills 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience, preferably with large institutional or commercial projects. 4-year electrical engineering degree. Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and a solid understanding of related codes and standards (NESC, IBC, and IECC). Experience with Autodesk Revit (BIM), Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam. Experience with ELUMtools and/or VISUAL. Project management skills. Client communication skills. MEP design and mechanical codes knowledge. Additional Skills & Qualifications Capable of working in a collaborative team environment to meet specific deadlines. Diligence in monitoring progress, identifying potential problems, and designing solutions as necessary. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. Strong ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Advanced knowledge of electrical design and life safety system layouts and designs. Preferred knowledge of low voltage systems and designs. Ability to perform photometric calculations is preferred. Work Environment After the first 90 days, you will be on a hybrid schedule. The work atmosphere is very laid back, and during the summer, the office often hosts food trucks and ice cream trucks.
