Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for sourcing obsolete components and identifying equivalent replacements for legacy customers. You will review Bills of Materials (BOMs), manage projects from quote to completion, and test, debug, and repair electronics. You will act as a liaison between internal PCB testers and external customers, including third-party inspectors, and perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot failing boards. Additionally, you will assist with PCB layout, enter data for quoting, and program Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines. Responsibilities Source obsolete components and identify equivalent replacements for legacy customers. Review and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs). Oversee projects from initial quote to completion. Test, debug, and repair electronic components. Serve as a liaison between internal testers and external customers, including third-party inspectors. Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot failing boards. Assist with PCB layout. Enter data for quoting purposes. Program SMT machines. Essential Skills Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field. Strong understanding of circuitry. Coursework, internships, or hands-on experience with electronics and PCBs. Knowledge of SMT and through-hole rework procedures. Ability to read and understand schematics and BOMs. Capability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Required visual acuity for working with small components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience with SMT. Experience in project management from quote to completion. Work Environment The work environment is mostly office-based, with some time spent on the production floor. The role may require standing or sitting for extended periods and demands strong visual acuity due to working with small parts. You will join a team of four Electrical Engineers, making you the fifth team member. The ideal work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 3:30PM or 7:30AM to 4:00PM, with some remote flexibility available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wooster, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.
