Project Manager Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and highly experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in design and engineering for industrial facilities, with a focus on chemical processing, oil and gas, and energy / power projects. You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of complex engineering deliverables for various projects, ensuring strict compliance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development, review, and approval of engineering deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Perform and oversee the detailed design of complex electrical systems including medium and low voltage power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), lighting, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
  • Perform, review, and approve advanced electrical calculations such as short circuit, load flow, arc flash, and voltage drop calculations to ensure the integrity of electrical systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications and lead bid evaluations for major equipment procurement.
  • Lead collaboration and coordination with other disciplines (process, civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation) to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
  • Actively participate in and facilitate HAZOP, design reviews, and other key project safety meetings.
  • Maintain advanced awareness of and ensure project adherence to industry best practices, codes, and standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Provide expert technical leadership, troubleshooting, and support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical leadership, extensive mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers and designers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred or required.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design within an EPC environment.
  • Extensive and proven expertise in the design of power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, and backup power systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in relevant design software [e.
g., Auto
CAD, ETAP, SKM
PTW, or similar].
  • Extensive working knowledge and subject matter expertise in industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70E).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple project priorities, and serve as a leader within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Availability for ~25% business travel.
  • Availability to be in the office when not traveling 80 - 90 % of the time.
  • There is marginal remote flexibility.
