Months Contract Job Overview:
Join our System Interconnection/System Planning Team to support the conceptual engineering design of new interconnection projects, transmission projects, and facility modifications. You'll work collaboratively in a matrix environment with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable integration of Generation, Load, and Transmission projects into the New York State Electric Transmission System.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Project Management teams in reviewing designs and specifications to meet technical requirements. Coordinate with internal teams, NYISO, developers, and engineering firms for facility study and conceptual designs. Collaborate with Environmental, Legal, and Strategic Supply Management teams to draft and execute agreements. Develop and review responsibility matrices for facility studies and interconnection agreements. Track project costs by generating project numbers and WBS codes. Analyze power flow and transient simulations using tools like PSSE or TARA. Provide asset information, drawings, and standards for interconnection projects.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with NYISO interconnection processes (preferred). Experience in high voltage substation and transmission projects. Experience with large-scale renewable projects (a plus). Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems. Minimum of 3 years of experience in high voltage substation and transmission line engineering. Minimum of 3 years in project management. New York State PE license (preferred). to contribute to the future of New York's electric transmission system!
