Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (mid-level) to support the design and analysis of building electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities. This role will focus on MEP electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, and system coordination, with an emphasis on producing high-quality construction documents and supporting project delivery. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with project teams, clients, and partners to deliver safe, reliable, and code-compliance electrical systems in accordance with industry standards. This position is ideally suited for candidates located near Lakewood or Grand Junction, CO, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. Remote work may be considered for qualified candidates based on role requirements and business needs. Some travel may be required.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare electrical designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation of commercial, industrial, and utility-related projects. Develop and modify detailed electrical design drawings and models using Revit and AutoCAD. Apply electrical engineering principles to evaluate existing electrical systems and support new system design and construction activities. Utilize working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable industry standards to support design and engineering efforts. Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data activities as required. Support project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring to help ensure timely project development and delivery. Experience supporting electrical studies, including short-circuit, coordination, or arc flash analysis, is a plus. Prepare clear, concise technical reports, calculations, drawings, and documentation summarizing methodologies, results, and engineering recommendations. Interpret analysis results and develop practical engineering solutions to improve system safety, reliability, performance, and code compliance. Apply applicable engineering standards, codes, regulations, and company procedures in all project activities. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to support successful project execution. Contribute to a safe working environment and follow company health, safety, and quality procedures. Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and resolving technical issues during design, construction, or operational phases. Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and deliverables in accordance with company and client requirements. Work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. 5-7 years of experience in electrical design, analysis, and/or commissioning for commercial, industrial, or utility systems. Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical system design, modeling, and construction document production. Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including the NEC and other applicable building codes. Experience with electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout and arch flash hazard awareness. Field experience in commercial or industrial environments, including data collection and site assessments. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to conduct occasional site visits and travel as needed.
