Project Engineer- Plant Engineering Position Overview The Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting utility, facilities, and plant engineering projects for Peak Technical Solutions clients.
This role provides technical engineering support, project execution, troubleshooting, documentation, and field coordination for utility systems, facility infrastructure, maintenance initiatives, and operational improvement projects. The engineer works closely with Engineering Management, clients, maintenance teams, and project stakeholders to ensure engineering tasks and deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Support Provide engineering support for plant utilities, facilities systems, and infrastructure projects Perform technical evaluations, engineering studies, data analysis, and system assessments. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility and process-related issues. Develop engineering reports, calculations, recommendations, and documentation as required. Assist with system optimization, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support spare parts evaluations, maintenance optimization efforts, and equipment lifecycle planning Project Execution Execute project scope and assigned engineering tasks for capital projects, facility upgrades, and operational support initiatives. Assist with project planning, scheduling, field coordination, and implementation activities. Track assigned work and provide project updates through Azure DevOps or other project management systems. Support development and maintenance of project documentation, drawings, specifications, and engineering files. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, maintenance personnel, and client stakeholders during project execution. Ensure assigned deliverables are completed accurately and within required timelines. Client & Operational Support Interface directly with clients and site personnel to support engineering activities and operational needs. Participate in client meetings, field walkdowns, and project coordination activities. Support project execution including demolition, installation, and startup/commissioning activities Support facility operations by responding to engineering requests and technical issues. Assist senior engineering staff and Engineering Management with ongoing client support initiatives. Compliance & Safety Follow all client safety procedures, engineering standards, and site requirements. Support compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and management of change activities where applicable. Additional Responsibilities Support KPI tracking and reporting initiatives Assist with development of engineering standards and best practices. Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives. Travel to client sites as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering field. Experience 2-7 years of engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or facilities environments preferred. Experience supporting utilities, facilities, maintenance, or infrastructure systems is preferred. Skills Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering/project tracking tools. Experience with Azure DevOps, CMMS systems, AutoCAD, or similar tools is a plus.
