This individual will play a key leadership role within the electrical engineering department, overseeing the design and execution of complex building systems projects while mentoring junior engineers and supporting client relationships. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of design and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the electrical design of building systems projects from concept through construction completion. Coordinate with project teams, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop detailed project documentation and ensure successful project execution. Prepare and review engineering reports, technical specifications, code analyses, and design criteria documentation. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Perform and supervise lighting, power distribution, and low-voltage systems design, including engineering calculations and equipment selection. Serve as a technical resource and primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. Oversee construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and project closeout activities. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff, supporting professional development and technical growth. Assist with proposal development, project presentations, and business development initiatives. Maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors while identifying opportunities for future work. Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices. Stay current with evolving electrical engineering technologies, codes, and design methodologies through continuing education and professional development. Support firm-wide initiatives, standards development, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Bachelor"s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE) license required, with the ability to obtain reciprocity in additional states as needed. 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within the building design or consulting engineering industry. Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing engineering teams. Strong knowledge of electrical building systems, industry standards, and applicable building codes. Proficiency with engineering calculation software and electrical equipment selection programs. Experience utilizing AutoCAD and related design software. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
