Jacobs Position Summary:
Reporting to the Electrical Group Lead, the Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the coordination, development, and production of deliverables in support of the overall scope of electrical design. The Senior Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to lead a design effort as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The position is in the Federal Buildings Group and the project type is majority industrial. The codes used include IBC, ABA, and Government Requirements. The position is hybrid with a minimum office attendance of two days per week in the Irvine office.
Responsibilities:
Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards Act as the DOR for electrical design projects including schedule, budget, delegation of work to junior staff, quality control and stamping drawings when required. Prepare complete drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials Gather information, interview stakeholders, make studies, perform calculations, and prepare original rough layouts and sketches as required Perform high level tasks under minimal supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research Design new electrical distribution systems or modifications to existing electrical systems to develop or improve them Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including document management and processing RFI's and Change Orders Establish project design standards and requirements as applicable for each project Supervise design staff to maintain quality and technical content through the life of each project Provide staffing development and mentoring for junior staff Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions Provide project quality control reviews at project milestones and continuous over the shoulder discipline checks Select equipment and lighting fixtures for interior and exterior applications Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls Prepare load analysis for different stages of design Here's what you'll need U.S. Citizenship is required Candidate is fluent in written and spoken English, required Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required 8+ years' Electrical design experience is required Candidates must be a P.E. Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing is required Extensive knowledge of electrical building systems is required Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines is required Self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environment Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment Ability to effectively meet deadlines Overseas travel may be required Proficiency in REVIT Proficiency in AGI 32 Lighting Analysis, SKM Power Tools for Windows, Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel Industrial, Aerospace, Airport, and Laboratory experience is preferred Experience in data center, power, UPS systems, generator systems and medium voltage distribution projects is preferred. Previous DoD experience, basic competency with Federal energy standards, Unified Facility Criteria (UFC) and other Government requirements is preferred Experience in lightning protection, security, and fire alarm system design is preferred #LI-KS7

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock. The base salary range for this position is $118,300.00 to $207,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
