As Needed for Projects OverviewA well-established, multi-discipline engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This position can sit in any of the firm's Southeastern offices. The organization delivers innovative, sustainable, and high-impact building design solutions across healthcare, higher education, science & technology, corporate, and other major market sectors.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead system design, provide technical expertise, ensure code compliance, and serve as a mentor and senior resource across project teams. Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical discipline design for medium and large projects (minimal Revit involvement)
  • Delegate complex tasks and provide technical oversight to engineering staff
  • Review and approve detailed system designs, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Evaluate and comment on technical submittals and shop drawings
  • Provide comprehensive responses to complex RFIs
  • Conduct targeted site visits to resolve high-level field issues
  • Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and documentation
  • Attend project meetings as a senior technical contributor
  • Ensure project deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Participate in developing project workplans and adjust for scope changes
  • Mentor engineers across all experience levels
  • Provide team leadership support when needed Qualifications Education & Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required Experience
  • 9+ years of progressive AEC industry experience; healthcare experience preferred Technical Skills
  • Expertise with major engineering design software platforms
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and QA/QC processes Leadership & Management Skills
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience training, developing, and mentoring staff Communication & Business Skills
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Skilled in technical writing and contributing to proposals Supervisory ResponsibilityServes as a senior technical advisor and mentor to electrical engineers.
May sign and seal documents where licensed. Oversees training, development, and technical quality of discipline deliverables. Work EnvironmentHybrid role with primarily office-based work and periodic site visits requiring adherence to safety standards. Physical DemandsAbility to sit or stand for extended periods and operate typical office equipment. May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Site visits may involve climbing ladders, navigating uneven surfaces, and exposure to outdoor conditions. Why Join This Firm?
