Ryan Griffin Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Hybrid - Phoenix, AZ) About the role Join our global headquarters in Phoenix as part of a collaborative hybrid environment supporting large-scale engineering projects. This role focuses on instrumentation and control systems across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility studies through detailed engineering and implementation. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and optimized engineering solutions. What you'll do Review, investigate, and develop recommendations for instrumentation and control systems across all project phases (feasibility, basic, and detailed engineering) Provide technical leadership to project teams, resolving issues and ensuring alignment with timelines and specifications Support risk assessments including
PHA/HAZOP, LOPA, SIL
assessments, and safety requirement specifications (SRS) Design conceptual and detailed instrumentation and controls solutions, including equipment selection and system guidelines Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs and improve overall project performance Develop and track performance metrics and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, IEC, and ISA Generate and review technical documentation including specifications, reports, and data sheets Interpret and review P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, schematics, and instrumentation documentation Support the development of internal instrumentation and controls standards What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience Hands-on experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within industrial or processing environments Experience working with engineering consultants and contractors Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, design standards, and project execution Proficiency with SmartPlant Instrumentation and instrumentation databases Ability to interpret technical drawings including P&IDs and loop diagrams Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred Preferred qualifications Degree specifically in Electrical or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Experience in mineral processing or similar heavy industrial environments Work environment This hybrid role is based in Phoenix, Arizona, with a mix of virtual collaboration and in-person engagement at our Collaboration Hub.
