•This is a 100% ON-SITE role in Blythewood, SC.•Relocation assistance is available. Sirius Staffing is seeking a Plant Engineering & Electrical Automation Specialist to support the planning, design, and implementation of one of our client's electrical systems for advanced automotive assembly operations. This role will play a critical part in launching and optimizing production equipment, ensuring seamless integration between mechanical systems, automation technologies, and shopfloor IT. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement electrical engineering concepts and planning strategies for assembly equipment and production systems
Design and specify electrical systems in alignment with mechanical requirements and operational needs
Serve as the primary representative for all electrical matters related to assembly equipment, both internally and with external partners
Create and manage detailed electrical specifications, including system interfaces and integration requirements
Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project timelines
Oversee electrical interfaces between equipment, shopfloor IT systems, and other connected technologies
Review and approve electrical designs; resolve technical issues with vendors and contractors
Support full project lifecycle from concept development through installation, commissioning, and production launch
Prepare cost estimates, conduct bid evaluations, and support vendor selection
Drive continuous improvement through change management, process optimization, and technical enhancements
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, IT, facilities, and EHS teams
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in automotive production environments
3+ years of experience in assembly operations
3+ years of experience in electrical systems and automation for production equipment
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Working knowledge of automation technologies, including PLCs, industrial networks, and Siemens TIA Portal
Familiarity with production systems such as SCADA, MES, and backup/recovery processes
Experience with electrical design and specification for automotive assembly equipment, including conveyors, semi-automated, and fully automated stations
Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations (e.g., NEMA, NFPA 79, NEC) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
Experience with full lifecycle equipment planning from concept through production handover
Knowledge of cross-functional interfaces including production, IT, shopfloor IT, and facilities
Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
Experience with web-based tools and digital applications
Customer-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
