Controls Engineer

Join a hands‑on engineering team responsible for developing and supporting PLC automation, robotics, and plant‑floor systems that keep production running safely and efficiently. What You'll Do + Design and implement PLC and robot programs for new and existing equipment. + Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues to minimize downtime. + Build and improve HMI applications for better operator visibility. + Lead equipment upgrades and improvement projects from concept through installation. + Support new technology launches and cross‑functional integration into production. + Assist with supplier selection and ensure capital projects meet timelines. + Contribute to preventative maintenance plans for controls and electrical systems. + Maintain accurate documentation, drawings, and spare‑parts records. What You Bring + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). + 2+ years as a Controls Engineer in manufacturing or system integration. + Experience with ABB or Yaskawa Motoman robots. + Proficiency in Allen‑Bradley Studio 5000 and RSLogix 500. + HMI development using FactoryTalk View or Studio 5000 View Designer. + Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working directly on the plant floor. + Solid project‑management, problem‑solving, and attention to detail. + Knowledge of EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, CAD tools, and lean/CI principles. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Florence, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
