Job Description

About MMS Products, Inc. MMS Products, Inc. (MMS) is a non-traditional defense technology company specializing in rapid design and scaled production, with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and mission impact. MMS supports advanced defense systems through rapid innovative additive manufacturing and production technologies. Position Summary The Electrical Engineer will support the production, assembly, testing, and continuous improvement of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and electrical subsystems used in advanced defense systems. This role is focused on developing and maintaining a deep technical understanding of existing MMS electronic product lines, manufacturing processes, electrical architectures, and production documentation to ensure efficient, repeatable, and scalable PCB manufacturing operations. The role requires a hands-on engineering approach with the ability to support both prototype and production environments in a fast-moving, non-traditional defense technology environment. This position requires strict handling of controlled technical data and compliance with Department of War (DoW) program requirements and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Key Responsibilities Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MMS printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), electrical assemblies, and associated production processes across current product lines. Develop and maintain a thorough technical understanding of existing electrical architectures, PCB designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), bills of material (BOMs), assembly procedures, and manufacturing documentation. Support PCB production operations including circuit board assembly, soldering, inspection, electrical verification, functional testing, troubleshooting, and final acceptance testing. Establish, operate, and optimize internal PCB manufacturing capabilities by supporting equipment selection, tooling, work instructions, quality processes, and operator training. Collaborate with external PCB fabricators, contract manufacturers, assembly houses, and component suppliers to support production quality, manufacturability, lead times, and supply chain continuity. Troubleshoot PCB assembly and electrical subsystem issues encountered during manufacturing, integration, testing, or field operations and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop and execute electrical test procedures, acceptance and validation plans, and production quality checks, and design and implement electrical test fixtures, harnesses, and production test stands to support efficient board- and system-level verification. Evaluate PCB and electrical subsystem manufacturability, production costs, assembly methods, and component selection to support scalable and cost-effective production. Support configuration management, traceability, and controlled engineering documentation practices, including drawings, BOMs, revision histories, and manufacturing records, in alignment with defense program requirements. Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems and compliance with applicable standards, including ITAR-controlled data handling and Department of War (DoW) program requirements. Provide direct, hands-on technical support to manufacturing personnel, production technicians, integration teams, and customer-facing engineering activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field. 3+ years of engineering experience in PCB assemby. U.S. Person status in order to comply with export control regulations under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Hands-on experience working with PCB assemblies and electrical subsystems in a manufacturing or prototype environment, including soldering, wiring, circuit placement, inspection, rework, and electrical quality control. Experience supporting PCB manufacturing operations, electronics assembly processes, or production engineering activities. Working knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes including SMT, through-hole assembly, reflow soldering, inspection methods, and DFM/DFT principles. Proficiency interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and electrical interface documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis of PCB and electrical subsystem issues. Experience using electrical diagnostic and laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, near-field probes, LISNs, and other electrical troubleshooting instrumentation. Familiarity with quality management systems such as
ISO 9001, AS9100, IPC
standards, or similar manufacturing quality frameworks. Experience supporting traceability, documentation control, and configuration management requirements associated with defense manufacturing programs. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing and engineering environment. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer teams. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position operates across multiple work environments, including engineering offices, laboratories, manufacturing floors, and outdoor test locations. The Electrical Engineer is expected to regularly work in production and integration areas to support system development, troubleshooting, and testing activities. Work in manufacturing or operational areas may involve exposure to machinery, noise, industrial materials, powders, energized electrical systems, and moving equipment, and requires strict adherence to all safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, quality standards, and facility security protocols. This role requires the ability to perform job duties safely and effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing or walking for extended periods, working at benches or test stations, handling electronic components, performing detailed technical tasks, and occasionally lifting or moving equipment or materials required for testing, integration, and production support. Employees must be able to read, interpret, and follow engineering documentation, technical drawings, schematics, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards. The role also requires accurate documentation of engineering and test data, and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, production staff, and management regarding technical progress, quality concerns, and safety issues. What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work in a cutting-edge defense manufacturing environment.
  • Growth opportunities within a rapidly scaling company and facility.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture aligned with innovation, accountability and impact.
