  • Full-time The primary responsibilities of this role include preparing cost estimates, developing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for third-party vendors, and evaluating and recommending electrical engineering firms based on RFP results.
The position is responsible for specifying and procuring electrical equipment, instrumentation, and components, as well as coordinating communication between programmers and electrical contractors regarding I/O points. This role also requires the ability to interpret facility power studies and VFD studies while ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications. The ideal candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects and priorities across various locations while demonstrating strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include contributing to the planning and development of construction projects and overseeing scheduling, coordination, and implementation activities. The role also involves supervising project phases to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications, while proactively identifying technical risks and cost impacts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain electrical scope of work documents for third-party engineering firms to define engineering deliverables for clients and project managers. Manage relationships and coordination with third-party electrical engineers, automation teams, and electrical subcontractors. Design and specify electrical systems and components for facilities and related installations, while coordinating engineering efforts performed by outside consultants. Prepare estimates for the electrical scope of projects and maintain current pricing data for electrical equipment.
Create and manage RFPs for:
Third-party electrical engineering firms Automation subcontractors Electrical subcontractors Oversee subcontractor performance and review engineering documents produced by external electrical and automation teams. Develop motor and instrumentation lists and assist with electrical layout and general arrangement drawings. Specify, procure, and manage instrumentation and related equipment. Support electrical subcontractors with redline markups and as-built drawing development. Specify medium
  • and low-voltage electrical systems and components, including installation drawings, relay settings, and electrical coordination studies.
Assist with general arrangement and underground conduit system drawings, along with documentation required for electrical installation. Review startup and commissioning procedures for electrical switchgear and oversee detailed engineering work completed by third-party consultants. Serve as the technical liaison between vendors, suppliers, engineering teams, clients, and contractors. Participate in facility upgrade and modification projects by recommending system improvements, identifying bottlenecks, and troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, switchgear, and VFDs. Coordinate utility power requirements with local utility providers and assist project and construction managers in determining requirements for new or upgraded services. Maintain master electrical design standards, procurement specifications, and installation specifications for control wiring. Manage electrical scope documentation from third-party engineering firms and coordinate communication between customers, electrical subcontractors, and automation subcontractors. Order, configure, and range instrumentation specified by chemical engineering teams.
