Job Title:
Controls Specialist Data Center - Per diem, overtime, long term project Instrumentation and Controls Different locations all over the US Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Texas Job Description As a Controls Specialist, you will work both independently and collaboratively to support capital projects and implement effective solutions. Your efforts will aid our clients in enhancing performance and achieving critical goals. Responsibilities Coordinate operations technicians' work schedules and manpower forecasts. Manage and track commissioning constraints and deficiencies affecting schedule or quality of Basebuild utility systems post-construction. Integrate construction and design schedules with commissioning activities. Provide reports and updates on schedule and quality metrics. Conduct system and facility engineering job walk assessments. Troubleshoot and complete root cause failure analysis on assigned projects. Train suppliers in commissioning software systems. Manage supplier access in commissioning software systems. Interface smoothly with engineering design team members and client representatives. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in commissioning or construction for I&C or Electrical Basebuild systems in the Advanced Technology sector. Experience with Rockwell Automation, PLC5, and Control Logix hardware and software. Experience with large capital projects involving Owners, General Contractors, Contractors, and System Integrators. Understanding of complex process systems architecture and design, instrumentation, device selection, networking, PLC and I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA. Proficiency in control systems programming and configuration. Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficient in written and verbal technical communication, including generating reports and conducting group presentations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a similar technical field preferred. Associate's degree or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or control systems engineering or a related field. Direct experience can substitute for educational requirements. Experience conducting I/O checkouts. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) or SCADA is a plus. Work Environment The position requires traveling to projects in Aldie, VA, with a per diem included. You will be working 40-50 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Abilene, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $68.00/hr.
