Core Engineering What You'll Do As a System Engineer/Technical Authority for our Realtime Air Monitoring System (RAMS), your critical role involves leading initiatives to ensure the operational excellence and integrity of a vital safety system. You will be instrumental in transforming conceptual requirements into tangible system realities, driving projects from initiation to completion, and providing critical insights for continuous improvement and operational efficiency. You will serve as a team member, collaborating dynamically with other System Engineers, Facility Engineering Management, and Project Management to conquer complex challenges related to RAMS. This role empowers you to make informed decisions on defined tasks, projects, and issues, leveraging your comprehensive understanding of this multi-faceted system to resolve technical complexities and achieve optimal solutions. Your Responsibilities will specifically focus on the RAMS system, including: System Ownership & Integrity :
Validate physical configuration, drive Configuration Management activities, and ensure the health and performance of RAMS, bearing overall technical responsibility for its operability and maintenance. This encompasses managing multiple pieces of distributed equipment and their interfaces with other systems. Design & Project Leadership :
Perform Electrical Engineering Design Technical Reviews for all proposed RAMS modifications, ensuring compliance with design criteria and Safety Basis requirements. You will originate discipline-specific Engineering Calculations, Evaluations, and Item Equivalencies for RAMS components and functions. Technical Problem Solving :
Apply extensive technical expertise to provide solutions for complex RAMS problems, including essential field troubleshooting support. Responsibilities include managing data logging for alarms, user-initiated system changes (e.g., alarm set point adjustments, placing monitors offline), and overseeing report generation. Strategic Collaboration :
Act as a key electrical engineering technical contact for RAMS, guiding significant programs/projects and interfacing with external personnel to ensure seamless coordination. This role requires an engineer who excels at developing robust technical solutions where ingenuity and analytical rigor are essential for complex, integrated safety systems like RAMS. Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering/science discipline. OR a Master's degree in engineering/science discipline. OR a PhD degree in engineering/science discipline. Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A
(i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A
alternative). DOE O 426.2A

) Preferred Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents thru ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA) A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is preferred for up to four years post-graduation, confirmed by transcript at the time of offer. Beyond four years from graduation, relevant experience will supersede GPA in hiring considerations. Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA Master's degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques Understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment Ability to evaluate and provide feedback on new and proposed revisions to technical operating procedures, design drawings and requirements, and facility systems, structures, and components Able to make informed decisions and support those decisions to peers and senior management #JointheMission:

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709. Medical requirements may apply.
