Job Description
Design and deliver code-compliant fire protection and life safety systems for complex facilities. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Minimum 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience Knowledge of applicable codes and standards including: IFC (International Fire Code) IBC (International Building Code)
(Hazardous Materials Code) Experience with fire alarm systems and equipment including VESDA systems Experience designing life safety and low-voltage systems including fire alarm, detection, CCTV, intrusion detection, HPM, and leak detection Knowledge of construction documentation and design specifications Experience with project estimating and scheduling Job Responsibilities Develop code-compliant fire protection and life safety system designs Produce AutoCAD and Revit design packages including 2D drawings and 3D models Design system layouts for fire alarm, suppression, detection, and monitoring systems Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and quantity takeoffs Generate construction specifications, network diagrams, and design documentation Coordinate 3D models with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams Support hazard mitigation design including gaseous suppression and detection systems Interface with code officials and stakeholders to ensure compliance and approvals Support project estimating, scheduling, and execution planning Serve as engineer of record for assigned project scopes when authorized Preferred Skills Active Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience with Revit or Revit MEP for 3D BIM modeling Experience designing life safety systems for semiconductor or data center facilities Experience with project leadership, resource planning, and design management Experience mentoring engineering and design staff
